Dr. Lanzer has the ability to use alternative bearing surfaces (metal-on-metal and ceramic-on-ceramic hip replacement). The average age of these patients being forty-eight years of age. These techniques include minimally invasive and computer-assisted techniques for appropriate patients.

Hip Resurfacing
Dr. Lanzer has been an instructor for the Cormet Hip Resurfacing System and has taught the technique for hip resurfacing as required by FDA approval in fifteen courses around the country for over 100 orthopedic surgeons.

Recognized Experience & Expertise
Dr. Lanzer performs complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery, and is an instructor in nationally-recognized courses attended by other orthopedic surgeons.

Advanced Technology in Knee Replacement
Dr. Lanzer has performed many total knee replacements including computer-assisted and minimally invasive techniques for appropriate patients.

Alternative Treatments
The unicompartmental knee replacement, as an alternative treatment for arthritis of the knee, has resulted in the development of the Orthoglide system as made by Advanced Bio Surfaces. This component is placed in the knee arthroscopically without screws or cement allowing for immediate weight bearing and activity.

Extensive Research
With Dr. Lanzer’s record of research on arthritis he has also been a consultant in the area of hyaluronic acid replacement and alternative non-surgical treatments.
